VideoPPT is Microsoft Office add-in that let you search, watch and insert videos in your Powerpoint presentations. This plug-in can be extremely useful when you want to add videos to your presentation without adding large files.
How get it?
- Verify that you have Adobe Flash player installed
- You can get this add-in for Office 2007 here [mirror]
- Unzip the files in a temporary directory
- Run setup.exe
How use it?
After you install VideoPPT, you'll see the option "Add a video” in the Add-ins tab in Office 2007
If you select in this option, a new window will be open:
Then you are able to search for videos entering your keywords and/or selecting the following filters:
• Video length
• Video quality
• Video cost
After you enter your search parameters, click the “Search” button. After this, the results of your search is going to be displayed in the search results area, this results include video title, duration, date, source and views.
If you want to watch a video, just do double-click or select the video and do click in the “Play" button, the video will be loaded in the video area.
Finally, if you want to insert the video in the current slide you just have to click the "Insert" button, and the video will be added to your presentation. After this, you'll be able to resize and move the inserted video.
Be aware that you can only play the video in the "presentation mode", and when you save your presentation a link to video will be saved, giving you the possiblity to manage a small file size, but you'll need to have internet connection every time that you want to reproduce the video.
